Radiobiological rationale for RT–drug interaction
No radiosensitization mechanism; bone-protective with modest immunomodulation (Ahern et al., Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology, 2018; Chang et al., Cancer Immunology Research, 2024). No mechanistic basis for increased in-field radiation adverse events; the relevant class caution (osteonecrosis of the jaw, hypocalcemia) is independent of radiosensitization.
