Radiobiological rationale for RT–drug interaction
Immunologically synergistic (RT ↑4-1BB; agonism boosts CD8/abscopal effect) (Rodriguez-Ruiz et al. Cancer Research 2016; Martin et al. Cancer Immunology Immunotherapy 2023). The relevant theoretical added risk is immune-mediated (urelumab-associated hepatological adverse events; enhanced systemic inflammation) rather than in-field radiation side-effects.
